For the second consecutive year, Mexico has been chosen by expats as the best destination to live, according to the survey conducted by InterNations among expatriates from around the world*. Nearly 12,000 individuals were surveyed, and, as was the case in 2022, the majority selected the neighboring country of the United States.
Preferred for a long time
The Expat Insider survey has been conducted for 10 years, and throughout this time, Mexico has consistently ranked among the top five. This preference is attributed to the culture, tourism, and the diversity of natural, culinary, and artistic attractions present in Mexican regions.
Furthermore, for foreigners, the cost of living in Mexico is lower than in other countries, especially in destinations such as Mexico City (CDMX), Monterrey, Guadalajara, and the Mexican Caribbean region in Quintana Roo. It's in this latter region where people from all around the world flock the most, thanks to the famous Riviera Maya.
