Paradise will begin to get better than it is. Tulum, a gem of the Mexican Caribbean, will have an airport that will strengthen the tourist infrastructure of the area and bring great benefits to residents, travelers, and investors.
In December, the Felipe Carrillo Puerto International Airport will be inaugurated, an event that will mark the beginning of a new era of prosperity in Tulum. The economy will increase even further, and the demand for hotels will grow significantly, thanks to the high number of tourists who will arrive more comfortably and quickly at the destination.
# A new gateway to the Mexican Caribbean
Currently, the Riviera Maya only has Cancun Airport as the entry point to the tourist corridor. This airport served 30.3 million passengers in 2022, and in the first half of 2023, it accounted for 40% of international tourism\*. Now, another entry point opens with the new airport, which will be located 20 kilometers southwest of Tulum.
With this airport terminal, travel times for visitors will be minimized, whether they are staying in Tulum or other destinations like Playa del Carmen, Bacalar, Cozumel, and more. Now, everyone will be closer to the archaeological sites, cenotes, beaches, and other wonders and secrets of the Riviera Maya.
# It will boost real estate investment in the region
With an estimated 32,000 operations to transport 5.5 million people per year, the complex will facilitate the arrival of national and international travelers, contributing to the already solid growth of the area.
This new airport will further boost real estate investment. Investing in Tulum will be more profitable, whether through lots for businesses or with apartments that can be rented to generate income.
With both the new airport and the Mayan Train—the other major project in the region—acquiring a property in Tulum is a decision that predicts a high capital gains for the following years.
